Download BrochureAs fellow members of the FOME (Future of Management Education) Alliance, these leading business schools are committed to both full-time residential and online programme delivery, therefore, they have joined forces to create a strong foundational programme for master's in management, accessible to students around the globe.
This programme is designed with travel limitations caused by the global pandemic in mind. Hence, the programme will start this fall fully delivered online, with the option to apply and enrol into a full-time and on-campus master's in management program at IE Business School or ESMT Berlin starting in January or September of 2021.
While the MiM Essentials Programme can be completed as a standalone certificate programme, the majority of students joining this programme will be preparing to join one of the 3 partner school programmes, and admissions to these programmes must be attained independently of the certificate programme. Therefore, they encourage students joining the programme to do the following:
See the three programme pages and understand the admissions requirements for the programmes. Once you know which programme is the best fit for you, our partner QS will be able to work with you and suggest which programme would be best to apply to, and if needed, can connect applicants with a recruitment team member at the partner school you are most interested in applying to. The qualifying programmes are as follows:
o ESMT Berlin Master in Management (see here)
o IE Business School Master in Management (see here)
o Imperial College Business School MSc in Management (see here)
As participants work through the MIM Essentials Programme they will meet with students who have started the full-time residential delivery of the relevant master programmes to learn more about how the intake is going, and how the student experience is going, as a way to help programme participants make the right decision with regards to which programme to apply for, as they work through their MiM programme course content.
The only prerequisites are that you have completed an undergraduate degree and are proficient in the English language.
Since this is the first cohort for this online programme, there is not a specific class profile to share. The universities expect that your peer group will be from all over the world and highly motivated, eager to engage with one another.
An overall assessment will determine if you receive a pass grade for each course. Full programme completion will be achieved upon the successful completion of each course, including tests, polls and activities in which you apply programme content. The highest scoring candidates will be eligible for exclusive scholarships.
IE Business School and ESMT Berlin will each be offering five exclusive scholarships to students who successfully complete the MiM Essentials Programme and are offered a place on the full-time master's in management programme.
The programme is full-time, but with significant flexibility, so you can fit it into your schedule if you are working. However, the courses are rigorous and demanding, so we encourage you to set aside up to 40 hours per week for your studies. Time will be spent among a variety of activities including:
The programme is designed to be highly interactive, while also allowing time for self-reflection and to demonstrate an understanding of the core topics through various learning exercises.
QS, the research company behind the QS World University Rankings, is mission led “to enable motivated people anywhere in the world to fulfil their potential through educational achievement, international mobility and career development”. QS believes the MiM Essentials Programme meets this mission as we seek to give recent graduates and young professionals informed choices to help them achieve career success! Imperial College Business School, IE Business School and ESMT Berlin are partnering with QS to provide this programme as a direct response to the pandemic which has impacted the world in 2020.
Because participants will be joining from all over the world, the universities will strive to schedule the live sessions at times when the majority of participants can join. All sessions will be recorded and available 24 hours after the session. Moderated discussion boards will supplement the live sessions.
Peer learning adds substantially to the overall learning experience and is an important part of the programme. You can connect and communicate with other participants through the learning platform.
Participants will need the latest version of their preferred browser to access the learning platform. In addition, Microsoft Office and a PDF viewer are required to access documents, spreadsheets, presentations, PDF files, and transcripts.
Yes, the learning platform is accessed via the internet and video content is not available for download. You can download files of video transcripts, assignment templates, readings, etc. Video lectures must be streamed via the internet and webinars and office hours will require an internet connection.
Upon the successful and satisfactory completion of the programme, you will receive a certificate of completion from the 3 institutions. The digital certificate will be sent approximately two weeks after the programme and grading have concluded. There will be no hard copy provided.
At the end of each stage (completion of a course block comprised of 3 courses), you will automatically receive a Certificate of Completion on behalf of all three institutions, listing the courses completed.
In addition, you will receive course credits which can be used to offset against the equivalent courses, with equivalent fee deductions from IE Business School and ESMT Berlin if you subsequently enrol in their Master's in Management. Successful completion of this programme will be positively reviewed if you choose to apply to Imperial College Business School, but will not automatically qualify for course credits.
You will have access to the online learning platform and all the videos and programme materials for one full year following the programme start date. Access to the learning platform is restricted to registered participants per the terms of agreement.
